Welcome to Esaki Laboratory's Web page.
Esaki Laboratory is part of the University of Tokyo's Graduate School of Information Science and Technology and was founded in 2001 by Professor Hiroshi Esaki.
The laboratory focuses on research about various areas related to computer networking, including Mobile Ad-Hoc Networks (MANET), Peer to Peer (P2P), Traffic measurement, Delay Tolerant Networks (DTN), sensor networks, P2P TV, multicast, among others. The main purpose is to contribute to the development of the Internet and to the creation and investigation of new network paradigms.
Besides research, the lab is involved in different Projects, and it's members also contribute to different activities such as WIDE Project working groups such as the LiveE Project, Network management, participation as staff members in different events such as SIGCOMM 2007, WIDE Project camps, CISCO Networkers Japan and Interop Japan among others.
We are also members of the WIDE project where Professor Esaki is one of the board members.
The laboratory has 18 students in 2009, including 4 Ph.D candidates, 8 Masters, 4 bachelor students and 2 research students. 6 students have been from 4 countries, making the laboratory truly international.
